Originally released in 1995 as a 2 part vinyl EP series, Party Platter became a full length LP/CD just as New Breed Records had matured into a full fledged label signing and developing artists and nurturing young upcoming producers, hiring a full staff of employees to work on promotion and marketing, releasing product in 3 formats (vinyl, cassette, CD) and dj Smash was on his first U.S. tour promoting his 1st LP on New Breed 'A New Type Of Jazz'.

The tracks for this 2nd LP by Smash were recorded in various spots while on tour including San Francisco (the cover photos were snapped by Smash while guest DJing at the legendary Mushroom Jazz party), L.A., Chicago, Miami, and then mixed at his home studio in NYC,.

All were produced by Smash on his then brand new MPC 60 which was portable enough to take on tour, set up in various studios and hotel rooms to produce beats and songs on the go.

mostly produced for a label I co-founded and ran from 1992-97 called New Breed Records.

Most of these tracks have been laying dormant in storage for over 20 years.

Newly remastered from the original tapes, I'm proud and excited to release them here for my fans old and new. ... more
